magicJack Phone Device - 2 pack
Average Reviews:

I've own this product for awhile now. Yes it does all what is listed on the company website. The incoming voice quality is good and almost near landline voice quality. Outgoing voice quality is adequate. Several people say the sound is almost like I'm calling from overseas but they can hear me Ok.
Cons:
[Audio Conferencing]
When dialing into audio conferencing services thia is where the system doesn't recognize passcodes to dial-in.
[Delay]
Short delay in calls both incoming and outgoing.
[Fax]
No support as of yet for Faxing. I was able to receive a fax based on the information magicjack list on there website. No success in sending a fax.
[Voicemail]
Tad bit sluggish.
Pros:
- Cost
- Easy setup
- Features

USB 2.0 External 5.1 Channel 3D Sound Card Adapter for PC Notebook Laptop Review

USB 2.0 External 5.1 Channel 3D Sound Card Adapter for PC Notebook Laptop
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is one of three usb sound cards I got for my laptop after a motherboard problem killed all the audio on my laptop. This card give the laptop a second chance, as it helped return audio to my laptop. The audio this device is on par to what my entertainment PC used to output, giving good sound performance for its price. The set up for this device is easy, with no drivers needed to be installed in almost all cases (I'm not sure about non-Windows Operating Systems). Also because it's a usb device, most computers can use it.
However, even though this works well this product looks and feels cheap. It actually feels like the plastic is thin and could break in your hand if you squeeze it. Additionally because it will stick out the usb port, you could easily hit and damage it. I would recommend the "7.1 Channel USB External Sound Card Audio Adapter" that is sold on this website instead of this one because of durability issues (the links are below, they are the same product sold at two different prices).

HP HP48GX RPN Expandable Graphic Calculator Review

HP HP48GX RPN Expandable Graphic Calculator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For a serious electronic engineering student in his senior year in college, calculations extensively revolve around converting units including bases as well as vectors. Compared to it's competitions from TI, it is such a no nonsense super-powerful engineering calculator that even the TI-92 doesn't come close to what this 48-GX can do. Entering numbers in RPN format may be quite tricky at first, but after about 4-hrs later, I came to prefer this format over the algebraic one. RPN totally eliminates the need of parenthesis. Algebriac fans can do algebriac entry and/or display too. It has a massive expendable equation library, so there is no need to carry around a ton of formula sheets. I also own a TI-85 and a CASIO FX-115W. Other than not being able to graph, the little $20 CASIO is much stronger and capable than the TI. It can do integration, derivatives, and can easily convert bases (HEX, BIN, DEC) and vectors (POL, REC). Up until I bought the 48-GX, I only used the CASIO. Now I don't have to use the CASIO anymore. I did some comparisons with my friends and found out that this HP calculator has all the ability of a TI-89 and a CASIO FX-2 as well as the usability of a CASIO-FX-115W, in addition to many more features, including easy expendable memory using cards which can be used like floppy disks to store infinite data, alarm clock, dnld and play music, x-fers to other 48-G/G+/GX by means of infrared light, symbolic calculations that can be converted into a numeric answer in one step, add/sub/mul/div polar and rectangular formats together in the same step, and don't forget the UNDO button when something goes oops. This is only to mention a few. It comes with an intro manual, and a very good comprehensive manual. If you are an engineer or a serious engineering student, one day alone with the 48-GX is all you need to famaliarize yourself with it, and chances are you'll never go back to a weak and overpriced TI again. If you don't need 3D analysis, HP-39G or CASIO FX-2.0 is recommendable, which are equal to TI-86. If you don't need graphing, CASIO FX-115W is a good choice.

Sennheiser CX400-II-B In-Ear Headphone with Dynamic Speaker System and Integrated Vol Controls Review

Sennheiser CX400-II-B In-Ear Headphone with Dynamic Speaker System and Integrated Vol Controls
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Similar to another reviewer here, I was looking to replace the stock earbuds that came with my new iPod Nano (5th generation). As a former recording engineer, I tend to expect my music to come across in reasonably high fidelity, that is, full frequency response with all the highs and lows present. Mind you, I'm not a crazy audiophile nut, but I'm probably more picky than most.
My first replacement attempt was a pair of Jbuds J2 Premium, but I was sorely disappointed in their sound quality. Highs were severely attenuated and the midrange appeared to emanate from a 32 gallon oil drum. It was like I was in a tunnel. So, I started doing my research.
Sennheiser has always been a high-quality audio company - every studio I've worked in has had Sennheiser headphones (and Sennheiser microphones, in addition to Shure, AKG, etc.). I know, and love, the sound of Sennheiser, so when I came across their brand of earbuds, I stopped my research, realizing I'd come home.
And when they arrived, I wasn't disappointed. Beautiful frequency range up to 22K Hz (regardless of whether one can actually hear that high in the spectrum is irrelevant - overtones live around 18K - 22K, so having this high-end margin really lets percussion and other high-frequency producing instruments sing through.)
I was also pleased to be ordering the cx400-II model, an improvement over the previous cx400, which only comes with a short cable plus an extension cord. That's too much weight, and having a connector between the device and the earbuds is just another place where something can fail. BTW, unless it's been changed since I wrote this, the picture on Amazon's cx400-II order page shows the cx-400 - you can see the extension cable. Don't worry, just place the order...you'll receive the cx400-II. I don't know what the "MK" stands for; it isn't on Sennheiser's website, nor is it anywhere on the packaging when you receive the cx400-II.
Another plus is the cx400-II comes with lots of different earbud tips to choose from, both single and double-flanged. My fav is the small, single flange. The cx400-II also comes with a cord winder, a wire clip you can optionally use (clips the wire to your shirt) and a little leatherette-style carry bag.
I realize there are better (and more expensive) earbuds out there with dual and even triple drivers, but for a single driver version, these Sennheiser earphones are great - and perfectly priced.

SAX-125.2 - Sundown Audio 125W 2-Channel Amplifier Review

SAX-125.2 - Sundown Audio 125W 2-Channel Amplifier
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After ordering my Sundown Audio SAX-125.2 amplifier, I received a call from customer service. They told me the shipping date was actually bumped up and I would be receiving my package earlier than expected! This was a nice surprise and great way to begin a relationship with the company. I researched many 2 channel and 4 channel amps online and was in the market for a solid amp for my mids & highs in my 2002 Chevy Camaro. With a solid set of Digital Designs components in the front stage and a set of JL Audio C2 Evolution coaxials for rear fill, I previously used a Kicker ZX350.2 amp for the front and ran the rear fill off my Kenwood KDC-X794 head unit. After about 3 months my Kicker amp fried so I wanted a reliable sturdy amp that would last and was less concerned with price, more concerned with quality. The features of the SAX-125.2 consist of:
2/1 Channel Bridgeable Class-AB Amplifier
MOSFET PWM Power Supply
Stable Into 4 Ohms Bridged or 2 Ohms Stereo Load
12dB Octave Electronic Crossover Slope
Variable Subsonic Filter
High Pass Filter Variable with x 10 Range Selectable Switch

Royal 16-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder Review

Royal 16-Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Our old shredder cut paper in strips 1/4" wide, the length of the paper. Although far better than not shredding, a very patient individual could reconstruct readable documents from these strips. This shredder cuts paper into 3/16" x 1" pieces, plus the ends are angled and ragged. This makes it highly unlikely that anyone would even attempt to reassemble a cross-cut document, much less one document from among hundreds of pages of co-mingled confetti. So, if you're serious about shredding, buy a cross-shredder device. In addition to paper, this thing utterly destroys CDs and credit cards - as the pieces are 3/16" wide, but even shorter than 1".
The shredder is shipped in the factory box, with large Kapox protectors at each end, with the device itself wrapped in plastic, for more protection. Our unit arrived unscathed. It comes fully assembled. Plug it in and go. The instruction "manual" is very thin, but this device isn't complicated. Remove any glue after peeling off the label, with paint thinner - quick, and zero damage.
This shredder has only three buttons. On/off, forward, and reverse. The on-off button's green LED illuminates when it's on; this means the device is ready to be fed paper. The motor starts when it senses something in the input slot. The forward and reverse buttons are only necessary when it overloads (i.e., paper stops feeding).
Our home-office has hardwood floors, and rolling the Royal about on its four casters is a cinch. Each caster can be locked, if you want the unit to stay put. The all matte-black plastic construction is attractive. It stops working when the integral bin is full. It's simple to empty - pull the bin out with the handle and dump/recycle the chopped-up remains. The bin has to be fully inserted to resume shredding.
From an electrical point of view, this shredder doesn't even register 1 watt (on a Kill-A-Watt meter), while in "ready" status, and draws variable wattage when in use, depending on the load. E.g., one sheet of paper draws about 35 watts and a full load (chopping up a CD) draws 273 watts. Since it uses almost no measurable electricity at idle, it would seem that the principle reason to turn the device off is if small children are in the house. On that note, the feed slots are designed so little fingers can't (shouldn't?) fit - however, you never know what a kid might do.
We're very satisfied with the 160MX for our home office, but don't confuse Royal's sales-pitch of "office ready" as meaning it's OK for any office (e.g., a small business). That may not be the case because of sheet-capacity, the 10-minute-maximum run-time, and/or it's plastic (although solid) construction. Instructions say to let the motor cool for 30 minutes after 10 minutes of use at maximum capacity; however, the motor doesn't get as hot when shedding only a few sheets at a time.
As of this writing, Amazon sells shredders from $15 to commercial-grade shredders up to $5,984. That makes this device clearly aimed at the lower end of that scale - the home-owner. Royal says it takes up to16 sheets of 20 lb. bond paper at a time. We use 24 lb. Kodak bond paper exclusively, and this shredder will only comfortably take about 10 sheets of that weight paper at a time. More than that and it just stops, requiring use of the reverse button or pulling the partially shredded paper out, then re-feeding less thickness. Because of this, it's easier to just stay below the maximum when feeding it.
The LCD display is blank when off, or says "ready auto", "forward", "reverse", "bin full", "overload", or "overheat". Technically, this machine doesn't "jam", so there's no indicator for that - instead, if you exceed its capacity to pull in material and shred it, an "overload" results and the motor stops. The instructions do no mention periodic maintenance as being required.
The 5-star rating is because this an excellent choice for a home-office, and based on the competition in this price range, an excellent value. I.e., we couldn't find another model with comparable features for near this price.

Colorful, and will protect your phone from breaking if you drop it on the floor... but really not worth the hassle of it slipping off all the time. The product started out okay... and has gotten looser and looser. Now the sides, the corners, the plastic pieces which snap together so you can slide out the phone to use the QWERTY keypad, are constantly loose. Not worth the annoyance- look elsewhere.

The ad copy is somewhat not clear, or perhaps I did not understand. But this is not the Lenovo OEM battery, but rather a third party product. Because of this, my laptop kept displaying a message that it was not genuine and also would not charge it. Probably a setting problem on my system. But be aware, this is not a battery from Lenovo. I ended up purchasing one off their site.

Lowepro Vertex 200 AW Backpack Review

Lowepro Vertex 200 AW Backpack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this pack a couple days before my trip to Turkey. I had a 15" MacBookPro, Canon 30d, 17-55/2.8 attached, 70-200/4, 30 1.4, battery chargers/power adapters, Gorillapod SLR, filter cases, cleaning clothes and solution, etc. All the stuff photo enthusiasts take on long trips. Overall this pack performed fantastically.
Pros: Despite the previous reviewers comments, I found the Vertex 200 to be very comfortable when it was completely adjusted. But to adjust it for maximum comfort I tightened all the straps very tight. Between the waist strap, shoulder straps and the chest strap, I thought it was about as comfortable as any other way for me to carry that much gear without being a roll-bag. I like that the zippers are water-proof even though I never had to test that feature. The top handle is sturdy and comfortable when the bag is off.
It's well padded and comes with many re-configureable velcro compartment walls for the interior. Shoulder straps are also very padded and comfortable when the waist and chest strap are fastened.
Cons: The laptop shouldn't be in the front flap. I'm not sure I understand the design decision of putting one of the heavier items in the whole pack on the front flap that requires lifting to get to the contents. Then when you want to fully open the pack, you have to make sure your laptop encased in the flap has a flat surface to rest upon. You certainly can't fling it open with reckless abandon.
I agree with the previous reviewer that the laptop placement also tends to make the bag tippy. Luckily my MBP doesn't weigh very much, but I can imagine if my wife's hp 15" laptop were in there it would be more of a problem. On top of that, it levers the weight of the computer further away from the body's center of gravity when being worn.
Conclusion:
The laptop placement and the somewhat useless expandable pockets on the side are the only things preventing me from giving this bag 5 stars. It is obviously very sturdy and protective. It performed great and I walked quite far with it without pain. A considerable feat for someone with bad knees like me.
If I were making the choice again I might look at the Kata backpack more closely as they decided to put the laptop closest to the body of the wearer. But I also preferred the subdued look of this bag.

I purchased this the week before I left on my one-month Europe trip. I used it in Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, and France with no issues. It's actually a great size for something that is equipped to do so much! It is NOT a power-converter, but an adaptor for just the plug head. Make sure you know this before buying...I did and am glad! It fit like a charm and was not heavy or obnoxious. I am very satisfied! Thanks!

Griffin RoadTrip FM Transmitter and Car Charger for iPod (Black) Review

Griffin RoadTrip FM Transmitter and Car Charger for iPod (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently purchased this product and took it on a 30 day roadtrip across the country. I used it all over the nation, from the Midwest (where it's relatively easy to find a frequency), to more congested areas like around Washington DC and Philadelphia, where its not easy to find a signal. Through it all, the Roadtrip provided incredible sound quality for an FM transmitter.
The cradle and mount is very handy in that you can adjust it so that you can view both the Ipod's screen and the frequency the Roadtrip is on without really having to take your eyes off the road. As one would imagine, I had a lot of stuff in my car on the trip, so I didn't want to mess with a typical corded charger and transmitter. This allowed my Ipod to be mounted close to my radio controls and didn't take up any space on my floor or console.
A couple of things to note here, however. First is that the mount comes with two pieces, one which you plug into your cigarette lighter and one which is an extension piece if the Roadtrip is in your way. I used the extension and was very pleased with it, but over time the sheer weight of it would not let it fig snugly in my cigarette lighter, and it tended to move around when I went around corners. Taking off the extension solved this problem, and, while it was not as conveniently placed, still allowed me to see and use it easily.
The sound quality of this product is also not as good in my other car (a '97 Grand Am), but I suspect that's the fault of the car itself, not the Roadtrip. The antenna on that car doesn't pick up very good signals anyway. Overall this is a great product, certainly a great asset for me on my cross-country adventure.

Swarovski Optik EL Swarovision Binocular, 8.5x42 mm Review

Swarovski Optik EL Swarovision Binocular, 8.5x42 mm
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was unsure whether to get these or the Leica Ultravid or the Zeiss Victory counterparts. I was able to compare the Swarovski and Zeiss in a store, but the Leica was hard to find (only one desler in Boston area).
It took Leica's 800 number a week to return my inquiry to their tech service person regarding what appeared to be their distinctive coatings, so I eliminated Leica based on poor distribution (at least in the Massachusetts market) and poor customer support.
As between the Swarovski EL Swarovision versus the (less expensive) Zeiss Victory, I felt the two were a near optical tie.
But, I subjectively preferred the Zeiss for their grey external body color versus the Swarovski green and I liked the Zeiss image color vividness and the snappy focus better than the Swarovski's seemingly more shallow depth of field. And, I disliked the Swarovski double-hinge "appearance". However, the tie-breaker, for me, was the excellent Swarovski field of view for their 8.5 versus the Zeiss 8 power's field of view (how does Swarovski do that?), and I preferred the Swarovski warranty over the Zeiss warranty. (I have trouble hand-holding a 10 power and I don't care for their smaller field of view.)
Having used the Swarovsky EL Swarovision 8.5 x 42 for a couple of weeks, I'm glad I selected them. The ergonomics of being able to use only one hand to hold them is incredibly convenient. Difficult to assess until you use them. And the brightness in extremely dim light is also quite impressive. I believe I made the best choice. Not inexpensive, but truly excellent value.

Logitech V550 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks Review

Logitech V550 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Many of you probably are deciding between the VX nano and this V550 for your notebook (or like me own a bunch of both). My overall preference is the VX nano even though it is more expensive, because it feels better in the hand and seems to have better built quality. Here are the differences:
VX nano:
- more curved back, fits my small hands better
- AAA batteries, still lasts forever
- more buttons on the left side (never really use them)
- slightly lighter
- compact and convenient battery door
V550:
- more flat back and slightly longer
- AA batteries, thus REALLY long life
- only one extra button below the scroll wheel
- slightly heavier
- the entire bottom casing pops off, is more plastic-y and i'm afraid i may snap it in half one of these days.
- has a stick-on button so you can hang this thing from various things like your laptop
Both have the awesome nano receiver, laser tracking, and storage of the nano receiver inside the mouse itself when not in use. Both are small and notebook sized. Both have a patented flywheel which changes type when you press it. Both have a light that indicates connection and battery low.
Your choice.

Texas Instruments TI-NSpire Math and Science Handheld Graphing Calculator Review

Texas Instruments TI-NSpire Math and Science Handheld Graphing Calculator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Strengths:
The document management system -- multiple "problems" can be kept in the calculator at the same time, and each problem keeps its own variable names; good graphing capabilities; ability to split the screen and work with multiple views of the same problem; spreadsheet application. The calculator has 5 "applications" (calculator, graphs & geometry, spreadsheet, data & statistics, notes), and information can be shared between them.
Weaknesses:
The documentation is very poor. There are two user guides, with considerable overlap in the contents. In User Guide Part 1, which comes packaged with the calculator, there are 25 pages on the Graphs & Geometry application, and the information on how to actually plot a graph is barely mentioned. User Guide Part 2 comes as a PDF file, and has more detail, but is badly organized and missing a lot of information. For example, instructions for a number of operations say to "drag" something, but nowhere in the manual does it say how to do that.
Keypad: other reviewers have commented on the difficulty pressing the right buttons on the keypad. Even worse is the "mouse" operation. I finally discovered that dragging involves holding the center "Click button" while pressing the arrow keys on the "NavPad". It is very difficult to control the cursor with the NavPad, and doubly so when trying to hold down the click button. Also, what operation is done by a click or drag is dependent on where on the screen the cursor is, and it's difficult to control the cursor location with the level of precision needed.
TI-84 compatibility: This seemed like a great idea. However, as far as I can determine, there's no way to integrate TI-84 functions with TI-Nspire functions. When you put in the TI-84 keypad, you get a TI-84. With the TI-Nspire keypad, you get a TI-Nspire. If you want to transfer information from one to the other, it seems to be impossible. The only relevant information in the documentation about TI-84 mode is a warning that if you update the operating system, all your added TI-84 applications will be deleted.
Lack of software: The TI-84 has a lot of user-contributed software. There's almost nothing on the TI web site for the TI-Nspire. I also didn't find much with a web search, and some of what is available requires the CAS version. For example, there don't appear to be any built-in physical constants or conversion factors for units. I could switch to TI-84 mode and get them, but then what's the point of buying the TI-Nspire?
Summary:
This calculator does not appear to be well-engineered or well-supported by TI. I would recommend waiting to see whether they give it the support that it deserves.

I love this bag... my baby "a yorkie" luvs it also.. sometimes he will find the bag and lay in it when we are home. The bag is very sleek so it's really hard to tell that it's a Pet purse. Thumbs up.

Toshiba Primary Extended Battery 9 Cell Review

Toshiba Primary Extended Battery 9 Cell

I bought this original Toshiba 9-cell battery for my new Toshiba M115-S3094 laptop. The laptop, as many new models, only comes with a 6-cell battery, which gives me fully charged and brand new some sad 2 hours of battery life. And this while surfing and updating Windows etc., so not even watching DVDs. This 9-cell battery gave me beautiful 4 hours and 30 minutes after the first full charge and I deem it an absolute essential item. Some online retailers claim to sell it cheaper but you might end up with a generic, non-Toshiba brand or a used/refurbished battery. I've done my research and Amazon turned out to be the best and cheapest for this original Toshiba battery. Highly recommended!

I bought these to protect my Kenwood 12's. I was very impressed when I opened it up and discovered they are metal not plastic. The description might have said this but I did not remember seeing it. Great product for the price. Only downside is their is a "A" in the center of the circle, but this does not bother me cause my first name starts with an A. Very Durable
