Jensen Marine MGH300 Waterproof Gimble Mount Stereo Housing Review

Jensen Marine MGH300 Waterproof Gimble Mount Stereo Housing
Average Reviews:

I wanted to replace the 10 year old houseing I had so I searched around and could not find a cheaper houseing then right here on Amazon. What Impressed me was Is I didnt have to cut all the radio wireing again and pass is through the new houseing. The top is off when it arrives and all that needs to be done is for you to insert the radio and feed the wires through the back wire feed on the back of the houseing. Next just screw the top back together with the bottom and mount the legs. I personally like the extra pocket on the side, I have a slim cell phone that fits perfect right in there.
Going to place order for an AM/FM antenna now :-)

HDMI Cable (15 feet) Review

HDMI Cable (15 feet)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm not at all as knowledgeable about this stuff as most of the people that write the reviews so this should may good for people who are clueless about this type of stuff. I had read the reviews before buying this and wasn't sure if I should spend the extra $ on Monster cables or not so I bought Monster cables and this at the same time. I was hooking up to Direct TV and a Panasonic Blu-ray to my HP 1080i HD 47" Flat LCT TV so I needed two anyway. When I switch these with the Monster I can't notice any difference in quality. A friend of mine works for Tweeter and helped me with my TV installation so I asked him about it and he said that there's very little difference and he wouldn't spend the $ to upgrade. I spent $15 on these instead $40-$50 on Monster (which would have been $200+ at the store that I bought the TV at) and got the same picture as far as I could tell.

Brother TN460 High Yield Toner Cartridge Review

Brother TN460 High Yield Toner Cartridge
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I Have been using Brother laser printers which use this cartridge for about 7 years. GREAT PRODUCT. In fact the Brother multi function machine I currently use is a (now discontinued) MFC 9600. It has now been replaced with the nearly identical MFC 9700. I have had it for some 5 years with regular use and it works flawlesly. I use about 3 or 4 TN460 cartridges per year. Brother seems to be about the only manufacturer which provides a decent economical value for laser toner. Yes their printers/multi function machines cost a little more initially, but, do the long term math. You pay dearly in toner costs down the road with other better known or more highly publisized brands. I am continually surprised when I inquire at any office supply store about the cost per print or cost of operation of any given laser printer. The sales people are baffled, and never seem to know. This to me is THE question to ask. And, with the cost a some excellent full featured heavy duty Brother multifunction machines (fax scanner laser printer) very close to $300, it really does not make any sense to buy anything else if you are a small business home office with fairly regular laser/fax usage. Yes you might get a laser printer for $100 less. But after a few cartridges, you will wish you had a Brother using this economical cartridge.

The Brother TN460 replacement toner drum works with popular Brother printers, fax machines, and multifunctions, including HL-1240/1250/1270N, FAX-4750/5750, and MFC8300/8500/8600/8700/P2500 series. It ensures quality printing on a variety of papers and stocks and yields approximately 6,000 pages. The Brother TN460 also works well with combination laser and LED copy/scan printers.

I purchased one of these because my husband is an old rocker and his hearing isn't as good as it used to be. He'd given up watching TV on our 46" Samsung LCD because of muddy sound. I don't know whether we blew a speaker (which we've done on every other stereo and car we've owned) or whether it was just the tiny, tinny speakers in the TV. (Time out for pet peeve: We paid a LOT of money for this TV 2 years ago; you'd think they could put decent speakers in it. OK, back in) He was always asking me what people had said. I wasn't sure one of these would 'fix' it, but it did. We pulled it out of the box and plugged one cable into the wall for power and one into the TV for audio (actually 2 together, you know how they do left and right, red and yellow). We turned the TV speakers off and started enjoying TV immediately. Then my son insisted that we had to use the subwoofer. I thought extra noise was part of our problem and didn't want to add anything more. We plugged it into power and placed it behind my husband's chair. Wonderful. You don't actually hear stuff from this, more like you feel the sound. And this woofer is wireless, so other than needing power, you can put it ANYWHERE in the room. Apparently it's not like the 3.1/5.1/7.1 speakers where placement is so critical (at least according to those audiophiles). And it only took a few seconds to train our remote to drive it. You hold down a button and count the blinks. When it reaches 3 or something it's programmed.
So, easy setup of soundbar, able to use existing remote, and decent looking design. What's not to love.

Bose Wave Music System - Titanium Silver Review

Bose Wave Music System - Titanium Silver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have enjoyed my Bose Wave music system for just over a month and I am very pleased with its performance. This is the second or third generation of the iconic Bose one-piece tabletop sound system that is intended to make you think you are listening to a much more complicated and professional component system. And, to a great extent, it does just that--or at least, it is closer to a stereo component sound than to a stand-alone run-of-the-mill radio sound. It certainly features a deeper range of bass sounds than any other one-piece radio I have ever encountered.
Bose has pioneered its spectacular sound machines which seem highly defined by their innovative speaker systems which they refer to as "waveguide speaker technology". This one-piece system produces a clear, natural, room-filling sound without the need of external speakers. It has a very innovative physical design with a small unintrusive footprint that sits well on a night stand or in the kitchen. I particulrly appreciate the Titanium Silver color which seems appropriate for any area of the home. It is simple to install right out of the box and has the FM/AM radio, CD player, and clock/alarm built in. There is an auxiliary input for an MP3 player or other alternate sound source.

I especially appreciate the alarm system that opens softly and gently rises in volume as you awake. It comes with a credit card size remote control; however, I purchased the larger backlit remote with a dedicated cradle that I use instead. All in all, this is an effective and very impressive one-piece tabletop sound system that I enjoy daily. It is a bit pricy, but ultimately, you get what you pay for.

The acclaimed Wave music system still sets the standard for quality audio and ease of use among one-piece, table top radios and bookshelf stereos. Its award-winning design adds a touch of distinction to almost any room. It's no surprise so many people use it as their main home entertainment system for music listening.Unique Bose innovations account for this compact Wave system's hearty sound. Proprietary waveguide speaker technology combines with other Bose technologies to deliver performance well beyond the speakers' size. The Wave music system was engineered for easy enjoyment, right out of the box. No setup required: just plug it in and you're ready to go. The FM/AM radio and CD player are built in. There's an auxiliary input for your MP3 or other portable player, and a headphone jack for keeping the music to yourself. The system's sleek appearance is uninterrupted by buttons, with all controls on a handy, slim remote. Audio-Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone

Audio Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone
I test the microphone on a Canon HF200 camcorder at the beach with both Ocean and Creek noise in the background. The difference is quite remarkable. Don't turn your speakers up too loud, as the volume changes quite a bit when I go from on board to lavalier microphone. Note that I had to actually LOWER the volume during edit because the Audio Technica mic would have clipped, otherwise.
During video editing I made the following adjustments:
Sound track +4db (to compensate for excessively quiet on board microphone)
Just the ATR3350 segment -3.4db (to compensate for the Audio Technica microphone being so loud)
Final analysis: If I was using JUST the lavalier microphone, no adjustments neccessary and it would have been right on the money. At $24 (today's price on Amazon) it's a no-brainer. If you have issues with volume narrating your videos and your camcorder has a microphone in port, go for it.
Note: This microphone is mono, so you'll need to correct it in edit (for me it was making left channel into both left and right. Very easy to do.)

Sangean HDR-1 Table Top HD Radio Receiver Review

Sangean HDR-1 Table Top HD Radio Receiver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After owning a Sangean WR-2 clock radio for a year and a half and growing more fond of it, I decided to get another upscale radio for my office, a radio with a remote control so I could avoid computer interference by keeping the radio a good 6 feet away. After reading about HD radio and Sangean's entrance into the market, I decided to take a chance. Worst case scenario, I figured, is that it would be another high-grade radio like my Sangean WR-2. Like the WR-2, the HDR-1 has a high-grade feel, a solid construction, memory presets, a remote control, and strong sensitivity on AM and FM. However, the HDR-1 is definitely an upgrade and you might consider that it has the following advantages and differences:
1. Two speakers instead of one.
2. Easy-to-use (simply plug in) AM external antenna for hard-to-get stations.
3. HD quality is clearly discernable, clear, full, no static, no "birdy," no chirps.
4. Some HD stations have multi-broadcasts.
5. Most functions have to be performed with the remote. For this reason, I don't see this as a bedside radio. Who wants to squint at their remote in a dark bedroom? More appropriate for a bedside radio is the Sangean WR-2 or the Eton Sound 100. But for office or anywhere that requires a distance between you and your radio, the HDR-1 is an excellent choice.
Update: Be aware that in AM it takes a few seconds before the radio "kicks in" to digital mode. The sound is so good it's hard to listen to non-digital AM stations. Even the strongest station in Los Angeles, KFI 640, sounds bad because it's non HD. One last point: I'm more and more in love with the speaker sound. I can't even play them as loud as I want to as I'm working when I have the radio on. But these dual speakers really shine.
Second Update: 1-19-07: After 3 weeks, I've discovered a weakness on AM: Rainy weather compromises the HD signal. This problem is compounded by the fact that the radio has weak conventional AM (much weaker for example than my Sangean WR-2 and my Eton/Grundig S350) so that when it's not in HD mode the AM sounds bad, a constant crackle in the background. FM remains strong in both HD and non HD mode, but Sangean needs to address this AM weakness.

Cables to Go 43036 Cable Ties 4-inch - 100 Pack (Black) Review

Cables to Go 43036 Cable Ties 4-inch - 100 Pack (Black)
Average Reviews:

I recently had to move my house, and being an aspiring musician, I have a TON of cables to keep track of. These cable ties saved my life. I was able to move everything, and still have enough cable ties to use in my new place. They provide you with 100 cable ties. This seems like a meager number at first, but believe me its more than plenty.
My only complaint is that they are a tad shorter than what I would feel comfortable using, especially with thicker, lengthier cables. I really had to compress some of my cords and cables to properly "fit" these ties. If they manufactured these with another 2-3 cm, they would be perfect. Still, very useful and worth the price!

Cyber Acoustics CA-3000 Three Piece Subwoofer and Satellite Speaker System (Black) Review

Cyber Acoustics CA-3000 Three Piece Subwoofer and Satellite Speaker System (Black)
Average Reviews:

We recently purchased these super small speakers as an enhancement for our Mac G-5. We didn't want to spend a tremendous amount on speakers as we're not into gaming but use our Mac for our graphic design business.
We got them home and I was surprised at how fast and easy it was to intall them. They were up and working in a matter of minutes. I have only a few songs in my iTunes, so I opened it and played the first one on the list, "Soul Food to Go" by Manhattan Transfer. Wow! Our entire office was filled with the deep, rich sounds of MT jazz. The sub woofer is wonderful, and is small and unobtrusive fitting nicely under our desk. The speakers are so small and low profile that they take up little room on your desk.
If you're looking for a very, very affordable speaker system, that's easy as pie to hook-up and delivers full, rich, vibrant sound look no further than the Cyber Acoustics CA-3000.

Boston Acoustics Horizon Series HS450 Mist Speaker Review

Boston Acoustics Horizon Series HS450 Mist Speaker
Average Reviews:

The sound quality is marginal at best. For the money and advertised abilities they fall way short. Further more, the warranty dept. at BOSTON ACOUSTIC is a joke.
I purchased my set brand new. Within 2 months 1 of the speakers blew up. This at a level they are advertised to be able to handle. The power source is a Onkyo Delta M5000 amp. (.08 THD 125 watts rms) The seller of the speakers "Brand Smart USA" informed me they NO LONGER CARRIED BOSTON ACOUSTIC PRODUCTS. Now I know why. So I had the pleasure of dealing with them directly. At 1st they acted like they cared and were going to take care of the problem. What a bunch of snakes!! In the end, I have a very expensive set of HS 460 BOSTON ACOUSTIC speakers that are complete junk! Both are now blown after fighting with them for a month the first time around. Then after 8 weeks the return of the first failed speaker they both went out only 3 months later. Now they pull the same BS walking me around in circles with out of pocket costs to me so they can "evaluate" the speaker to determine if it is a warranty item. I have a worthless set of speakers that fall way short of the talk of this company's product line, and a very bad taste in my mouth from trying to get them to honor their warranty. I would NEVER buy a BOSTON ACOUSTIC product again.

M80 v3 Floorstanding Speaker - Boston Cherry Review

M80 v3 Floorstanding Speaker - Boston Cherry
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This review is for the Axiom M80 V2 towers, which is the latest model from Axiom.
I've had these speakers for about 10 days now. I am totally amazed at the sound quality of these speakers. I've been in the market for new speakers to replace my old Pioneer CS-99A speakers for well over a year now, checking Circuit City, Best Buy, and a few REAL audiophile stores in northern California. I listened to speakers ranging in price from about $1500 to $3000 a pair. I also read many audiophie magazine reviews of verious speaker systems, and have visited literally dozens of websites for audiophiles. One thing became abundantly clear. Every magazine review about these speakers had nothing but praise for them, most are shocked that these speakers are (as they said) "inexpensive". As high end speaker systems go, these are at the lower end of the price scale. I was VERY worried about purchasing any speakers without seeing them and, most importantly, listening to them. Well, I took a chance and ordered the "front end" (for now)of my new home theater speaker system... two M80 V2 speakers for left and right... and a VP 150 V2 center channel speaker from Axiom's custom color shop (12% over the base price) in cinnamon Beech with black grille. It took about three weeks before they built my set. Once shipped (from Ontario Provence in Canada) it took about eight days to arrive here in California. Upon arrival, I set them up right away! I hooked them up to my new Yamaha RX-V3800 and ran the calibration program on my reciever to match the speaker response to my living room's acoustical properties. I WAS BLOWN AWAY! Fabulous sound and VERY deep and VERY tight, clean bass response!! No boominess whatsoever!! Great imaging across the soundstage! I never dreamed that the bass could be so clean and deep from a pair of 6.5" woofer drivers in each cabinet!! My Pioneer CS-99A speakers each had a 15" woofer and yet these Axioms probably go at least 3/4 of an octave lower in frequency! And have a lot less distortion. I then went back to the same "custom" store to listen again to a pair of speakers costing almost $3000 a pair... with my blu-ray DVD in hand. I listened... sounded comparable to my system. Then, while listening, I wandered a little around the listening room and found that the salesman had kicked in a Velodyne subwoofer to supplement the bass! I have no subwoofer at home yet! I definately made the right decision! One word of warning for the inexperienced. These towers have an impedence of 4 ohms. Before you get them, make sure your amplifier or receiver can provide sufficient current to drive these speakers at your normal listening volume. The vast majority of speakers made for average home use are 8 ohms in impedence
I plan on getting the rest of the Axiom home theater speaker system (a pair of QS8 quadpolar surround speakers and their Epic 500 500 watt powered subwoofer system later on this year!!
All in all, I am VERY happy with my purchse

M2 v3 Bookshelf Speaker - Boston Cherry Review

M2 v3 Bookshelf Speaker - Boston Cherry
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I originally bought these to be used as rear surrounds in a 7.1 system. 7.1 just didn't do it for me though. (Likely because my QS8 surrounds do such a good job of enveloping me in sound, I had no need for additional surrounds!)
Anyway...I ended up taking them down from the back of my room, and putting them in my game room. I've got them hooked up to my computer and use them for gaming, and playing back my MP3's while at my desk. Wow. For use as nearfield monitors, these are terrific! Clarity, detail like you won't believe. If you need or want bass, you'll need a subwoofer, but there's not a small bookshelf speaker out there that that's not true of.
Perfect for nearfield listening or a small room mated with a sub. Axiom has another winner.

Burnes of Boston enVue, Digital Photo Album with 3.5" LCD Display - Black Carrying Case Review

Burnes of Boston enVue, Digital Photo Album with 3.5 LCD Display - Black Carrying Case
Average Reviews:

My sister and I love Love LOVE our Envue digital photo frames!!! Here are a few tips on using this product.
1. You have to hold in the power button for a few seconds to turn it on.... I do believe it says that in the manual that comes with it.
2. When clicking on the side arrows, slide show, or the multi picture (bottom) buttons you need to make a short and quick click. This seems to work better than pushing really hard for a long time.
3. Last but not least. When trying to push the middle main menu button you need to hold in in for a couple of seconds and then an hour glass will come on the screen to let you know it is going to the main menu.
This item was so easy to put pictures on and use that we went back and bought a total of 6. We were able to put family photos on one and take it to my grandma in the hospital. We set it on slide show and she always had her family with her and never felt alone. With the memory card option we were able to have a slide show almost 1000 pictures long. She loved it!!

M3 v3 Bookshelf Speaker - Boston Cherry Review

M3 v3 Bookshelf Speaker - Boston Cherry
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In my pursuit of audiophile quality nirvana, after going through many name brand speakers over the years, the Axioms have hit the mark ! Here are the reasons, and not just technical ones.
First, let me say that Axiom is an audiophile speaker manufacturing company based in Canada that has been in the business for a little over 20 years(they are definitely not a generic no-name brand to Canadians and those of us in America who are able to obtain these wonderful speakers).Their well designed and thought out website is rich in product visuals, technical and ordering information. While you will NOT see or be able to hear any Axiom speakers at your local home electronic big box retailers here in the U.S. the only thing you can do is look for reviews on the internet;reviews from top audio critics and purchasers praising the high end quality of these babies! Axiom's customer service offers a wonderful 30 day try-it-and -return-it-if-you-don't-like-it policy (of course sans shipping cost). Their customer service is excellent and extremely knowledgeable in any questions or concerns you may have from purchasing to technical inquiries(you're not communicating with sales reps just out to make a fast buck or commission---you are treated like a person)! Their sales and service dept. staff keep you immediately informed of when your order has shipped out as well as online tracking information. If you have any problems or concerns they can also be reached via toll free number. You also receive a friendly e-mail acknowledgement that receipt of your order shipment/arrival is completed.
The next remarkable aspect of the Axiom family of speakers are the audiophile budget minded prices. The old cliche "bang for the buck" is tried and true with Axiom. There are no hidden additional handling costs or inflated prices to give that "air" of elite snootiness ("Hey, if I spend thousands of dollars on these speakers, I must be getting what I paid for and that makes me special...").Their prices all across the board, from their entry level speakers to their tower speaker line, are very reasonable if not surprisingly inexpensive!
Now, how do the M3ti Axioms perform? Without getting too technical, they are musical sounding when they should be and can also reproduce dvd surround sound effects with astounding accuracy, realism and ease.I have used both analog and digital sources and have found the clarity and detail to be very satisfactory and even surprising at times. What's amazing is the size of the cabinet enclosures. As Yoda would probably say,"Size matters not !"---and he's right. However, laws of physics and sound dictate that in order to really get the most out of the listening experience is to mate these with a subwoofer. On their own, they still reveal remarkable highs and mids and an acceptable level of bass. With or without a sub, the real test is to just close your eyes and LISTEN ! The stereo imaging is impeccable. The mids and highs are smooth, but not too neutral or warm, or dull sounding. The titanium tweeters offer a silky rich characteristic but nothing to give you ear fatigue. The midrange is a bit punchy(but by no means artificial or overemphasized) and well pronounced (at times I felt like I was listening to a 3-way speaker system)! When placed on a pair of speaker stands, the music floats in the air and never is there any hint that the sound is coming from a pair of small boxes; due to the special wedge-shaped design this practically eliminates that "boxy" cabinet resonating sound found in cheaper made speakers. The sub I am currently using is a Velodyne CHT8. All three speaker units integrate seamlessly. I often forget I'm listening to a couple of shelf speakers and a sub. The sound quality is more like a couple of mid sized floor units! There is no sonic strain that I could detect when playing them loud. One must also keep in mind that loud is not necessarily a trait of audiophile quality; they must also be able to reproduce the most subtle and minute nuances as well with great clarity and detail. The M3ti's accomplish this very well indeed.I can leave the room and walk into the kitchen or another adjacent room and the clarity can be heard versus a muffled sound from other lesser speakers. There is no colored or saturated sound as many other speaker companies try to introduce into their bookshelves to make them sing like tower speakers---those often end up having a very "phony" sonic quality. With the Axiom M3ti's,classical guitar strings have that natural and crisp "plucking" and airy characteristic along with the proper acoustical characteristics that emanate from such an instrument (same for a harp). Bongos and congas present themselves with such vividness (you can almost see the peformer tapping or pounding on them and hear their finger tips and palms striking the skins). Female vocals are very natural and soothing(I could hear words pronounced so crytal clear , even ending consonants on words that with my old speakers used to roll off or just cut off and disappear). I'm hearing details I never heard before.Period. Male vocals may have a little thinness to them but not enough to make a major difference or to detract from the overall grand musical presentaion.
The looks (from four wood veneer colors to choose from to special color customization), the sound quality all speak in volumes (no pun intended) of the technological thought, design, detail, and craftsmanship that has gone into the Axioms.I personally chose the Mansfield Beech with black grills; I love the black and light wood contrast;it blends in very well with my surrounding rustic furniture.I really deliberated for awhile between the Beech veneer and the Boston Cherry (the BC has a very elegant and expensive look, but nothing I have furniture or decor-wise would match). There is a much lighter wood color, I believe maple, but it reminded me of a piece of furniture that still needs to be stained and worked on---it just looked "unfinished" to me.Anybody who appreciates high end sound but says they don't care what the speakers look like is lying; Once you look at the complete Axiom line, they have a very classy and appealing look that should suit and satisfy anyone's home furnishings and decor. There's an overall contemporary elegance to their cabinet designs.Again, The prices are affordable. This is an awesome message that conveys to people desiring a step up into the world of audiophile quality speakers that you don't have to break the piggy bank or dip into the kids' college fund. Shipping is via Fed Ex to most states and is very fast---my speakers arrived from Canada to Arizona in 2-3 days tops ! These have definitely more than just wet my appetite; In time, I will also look forward to purchasing their tower speakers as well. I went out on a limb and solely ordered these based on glowing reviews from both sound critics and customer reviews praising the Axioms and am not at all disappointed.Buying the Axiom M3ti speakers is a win-win situation !

M60 v3 Floorstanding Speaker - Boston Cherry Review

I've always been a firm believer in the bookshelf/subwoofer system for audio. In any tower speaker I'd ever heard, the upper-bass was always loose, and muddled. For that reason, I'd always bought and owned high quality bookshelf speakers, and mated them with a good subwoofer. (And that's still a terrific way to go)
Then I heard the M60ti's. Holy cow. Clarity throughout the audio range. Bass is very tight and clean. Midrange is clear - voices sound like they're right there in the room with you. And the highs? You'll hear things you've never heard before. You can hear the guitar pick in accoustic guitar. You'll hear Norah Jones' delicate inhale before singing. It's all there.
I love listing to speakers. I go out listening all the time, and I've yet to hear something that has made me want to trade my M60ti's in. They are very similar in sound/tone/detail as the MUCH more expensive B&W 703's. If you've heard those, and just couldn't afford their $2500+ price tag, give the Axiom M60ti's a try.
