(More customer reviews)I've had my Boston floorstanding speakers for about 5 years. I have listened to most all the high-end brands of speakers and these offer the best value of any model or brand. Although technology seems to change year-end and year-out, I keep going back to these speakers which give better overall tonal quality than anything else in their price range. I spent $600 for my pair 5 yrs. ago and they are worth every penny. Of course you can spend as much as you want to on speakers (thousands of dollars), but these speakers give all the tonal quality that more expensive models produce. They aren't sold at the big box stores like Best Buy because they are one of the few high-end brands that hasn't succomb to the mass market. Big box stores typically do not offer acoustical expertise to help customers choose a system. These speakers received great expert reviews when I purchased them and most serious music listeners find that these speakers have not been surpassed by the newer models. They are well-balanced and are voices are clear. Mid-range sounds are nice and the well-built wood cabinets help give you that extra bass. However, I would still recommend a subwoofer for this set.
I would say if you can pick these up for $300/pair that it's a bargain price. Full and true sound cannot be reproduced by these small satellite systems that sell nowdays. These speakers are modern, nice-looking and blend well in the living room unlike some of the other floorstanding speakers.
